SPSA will ensure that equality and diversity is applied fully, fairly and consistently across the organisation. We will strive to achieve mainstreaming of all equality and diversity issues which will contribute to a more inclusive organisational culture leading to improvements in performance in line with the our Annual Plan.

We are committed to applying the principles of the Disability, Gender and Race Equality Duties which are already placed on us and aim to extend these principles across all the remaining protected characteristics.
Through the use of the Equality Impact Assessments during our policy development and review processes we will continue to look at areas where there is an adverse impact and then take action to change the impact of this.
The publication of our first draft Single Equality Scheme is an opportunity to explain our strategy and provides an action plan which sets our key priorities and outcomes between December 2010 and November 2011.
The Single Equality Scheme is a living document that we aim to continuously improve. We therefore welcome your feedback on any aspect of our scheme and our ongoing work on equality and diversity issues.
