Independent Convenor SPSA Board
On 1st January 2009, Vic Emery was appointed as the Convener of the Scottish Police Services Authority (SPSA). Prior to this, Vic was Managing Director of BAE Systems naval warship division, building on a range of senior executive positions in the defence industry for over 40 years. He was awarded an OBE in May 2008 for services to shipbuilding. Vic has worked closely with Government representatives and support agencies across the world such as UK, Canada, Singapore among others. He is also a former Board Member and Chair of Scottish Enterprise Glasgow and is currently a Board Member of the Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Scottish Enterprise Regional Advisor Board as well as a Trustee of the Scottish Maritime Museum. Until recently, Vic was also the Chair of the New Campus Glasgow Project, responsible for one of the country's biggest education infrastructure projects, the creation a super-campus for the 50,000 students and the merger of 4 city centre colleges.
On 3rd February 2011 Vic was appointed Chair of Transport Edinburgh Limited (TEL) and the Edinburgh Tram Project (tie). He has also become chairman of tram-bus umbrella body Edinburgh Transport Limited.

Russell Pettigrew, a former Director of Finance with the NHS and a non-executive board member of NHS Health Scotland.
Jeane Freeman, was the founding Chief Executive of Apex Scotland. Ms Freeman now runs her own business and also sits on the National Waiting Times Centre Board, and the Parole Board for Scotland.
Police Force Members
Stephen House, Chief Constable of Strathclyde Police, Chair of ACPOS Crime Business Area and member of the Serious and Organised Crime Taskforce.
Colin McKerracher, the Chief Constable of Grampian Police and Chair of the ACPOS Business Change and Forensic Science Programme Boards.
Police Authority Members
George Kay, Strategic Chair of Fife Council's Police, Fire and Safety Committee and a member of Fife Council since 2005.
Iain Whyte, Convener of Lothian and Borders Police Joint Board and a Councillor with Edinburgh Council since 1995.
This Ministerial public appointment was made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointments in Scotland's Code of Practice.
All appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees' political activity (if there is any to be declared) to be made public. George Kay is a member of the Scottish National Party.
