Missing Kids Website

Every year around 9,000 children go missing in Scotland.  Whilst in the vast majority of cases there is a successful resolution for the families involved, there are instances where an immediate, wide spread police response is required and this is where the Missing Kids Website can play a critical role.

The Missing Kids website provides Scotland's police with state of the art technology in an effort to locate missing or abducted children.  It enables them to instantly transmit photographs of a missing child, not only to other forces around the UK, but also abroad.  All national sites are linked to a global network enabling access worldwide.

The Criminal Justice business area is the central point of contact for Scotland's police forces for inputting information relating to missing children. If a child goes missing the local police send the details for us to add the information to the Missing Kids website. This ensures that the information is made available worldwide.
