Following the completion of a successful national recruitment exercise last year, Martin Leven has joined SPSA as the organisation's new Chief Information Officer.

Martin took up the new post on Monday 9 January 2012.

Martin arrives with over 20 years of industry experience, including over a decade of senior management experience with some of Scotland's leading companies. His experience includes leadership of major ICT change programmes to support and underpin organisational merger - something that will be crucial as SPSA and Scotland's police forces work towards a single Scottish Police Service.

Chief Executive Andrea Quinn said:

"I was quite clear to every candidate we saw that this was a once in a lifetime opportunity for someone to step forward and make a success of a job that would redefine their career. Martin clearly saw that opportunity, he took that step forward, and I am absolutely delighted to have him on board.

"The year ahead is absolutely crucial in terms of laying the foundation for the single Force, as well as maintaining the crucial day-to-day services that underpin so much of modern policing. That's why it is fantastic that Martin was able to start with us so quickly."
