Work with us in Criminal Justice

Officer23

Our Criminal Justice business area provides and manages vital integrated information systems for the eight Scottish police forces and the wider criminal justice community in Scotland, including the Criminal History System, the Scottish Intelligence Database and the Automatic Number Plate Recognition System.

These systems form a life line of intelligence and information vital to officers when out helping to protect our streets and communities.

Criminal Justice is supported by staff with a varied mix of backgrounds and experience.  The business area benefits from data controllers, clerical assistants, audit and compliance specialists and intelligence officers.

Criminal Justice also has a number of exciting and rewarding opportunities for serving police officers, whose law enforcement background is invaluable in future system developments.

Undertaking a secondment opportunity with SPSA can help officers to develop  new skills, whilst improving their knowledge of the wider criminal justice system and how it operates.  Not only does this support officers for future career progression but it also provides a new strand of experience which they can use in their roles when they return to force.
