Selection Process

On receipt of the completed application forms, short listing will take place.  This process involves the assessment of evidence from the application form against the role profile.  No assumptions will be made about a candidate's skills and abilities therefore it is important that you make sure your application contains the specific detail and evidence required.

On completion of short listing, applicants will be notified as appropriate regarding the next stage of the process.

Competency based interviews are then carried out by the relevant department for the vacancy.  Interview panels are always supported by our colleagues in Human Resources and depending on the level of the vacancy may also include an invited external stakeholder.  For helpful tips on preparing for competency based interviews click here.

If you are the successful candidate you will be notified and you will be vetted.  Due to the sensitive nature of much of the work carried out by the different parts of the Authority all staff undergo pre-employment checks.  This is a confidential process that is carried out by our vetting unit and vetting forms will be provided to shortlisted candidates on notification of interview.
