Success Stories

Crimestoppers really does make a difference and the Scottish call centre receives information about lots of crimes. Here are some of our success stories:

A caller reported a male who was responsible for carrying out break-ins on a daily basis. His particulars were given and the information passed to the appropriate force. As a result of this information the man was arrested and charged with 20 housebreaking offences and a drug offence.

Information received reported a male who carried out an assault in the Glasgow area. He was seen carrying out the assault and running from the area. The subject was named and the information passed to local police. He was subsequently arrested and charged.

A robbery was reported in which a high value vehicle was used. The caller named the suspects and had information on the whereabouts of  the vehicle.  The vehicle was recovered and returned to its rightful owner. The value of the vehicle was £35,000.

A caller to Crimestoppers reported a male who was growing cannabis plants. The house was being used as a cultivating centre. This information was passed to the police who searched the house under warrant. Over 20 plants were seized in the house and cannabis to the value of £15,000 was recovered.

Information received by Crimestoppers reported a number of people who were heavily involved in drug dealing. The caller named several people who were the main dealers and as a result of this information local police obtained a warrant and raided the house. Five people were arrested and charged accordingly.

Information was received concerning males who were dealing drugs from their motor vehicles and also from two different addresses. The caller named a number of people involved. As a result the subjects were targeted and five people were arrested and charged with drug offences. Drugs with a street value of almost £30,000 were seized.

Crimestoppers received information about a male who was heavily involved in drug dealing. The dealing was going on throughout the day and night and the number of customers was increasing. An investigation regarding the suspect was prepared and the house searched under warrant. As a result four people were arrested and charged with various drugs offences. A large amount of drugs, scales, glucose and other drugs paraphernalia was recovered in the house.

A caller to Crimestoppers reported a couple dealing drugs from their house. There were loads of people visiting the house at all hours of the day and night. Specialised information was given by the caller and was passed directly to local police force. As a result the house was searched and £2,000 worth of drugs were recovered and both householders were arrested.

A caller to Crimestoppers reported a male who was heavily involved in drug dealing. He was carrying the drugs in his car and delivering them over a wide area. As a result of the information he was stopped whilst driving his car and was found to be in possession of £600,000 worth of drugs. He was arrested and sentenced to 6 years in jail.
