Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency  

The Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 placed the Scottish Crime and Drug Enforcement Agency (SCDEA) on a clear statutory footing allowing the Agency to expand and develop to meet the growing threat from serious organised crime.

The SPSA is responsible for maintaining the SCDEA by supplying corporate support services.

A key aim of the Agency is to provide a safe, prosperous Scotland for all communities free from the harm caused by serious organised crime.  In addition the Agency is also responsible for the Scottish Money Laundering Unit, the Scottish Witness Liaison Unit and e-Crime Unit.
